Is God in the hearts of this Generation?
I recently sat down with a group of Sunday School youth, in a church, ranging from 13-17 years old. I got them into a circle of chairs and grabbed a piece of paper and asked them to describe what is important to them as a generation. I told them this list, was going to be the voice of their generation, for the future generation, to read and get a glimpse into what was important to them. The list included very obvious things like: Ipods, cell phones, text messaging, my space, XBox, Halo, Shoes and many more things. Though these are Sunday School youth, in a church, who have alot of youth oriented programs, interestingly, they failed to make any mention of the church, God, christianity or the Bible. Is it that this generation finds it difficult to truly be sold out for Christ or are they too distracted, or maybe just misunderstood. Maybe they have a passion for Gods stuff, but they express it differently from previous generations. What is it? What is the true voice of this generation in relationship to God's things. Let your voice be heard, no matter which generation you represent today. Is God in the hearts of this Generation?

Hi my 1st blog ever. Each generation has had to deal with ISSUES of its time. Todays issue are a bit more intense since the creation of the internet and video games. No doubt these are a big distraction for are youth in my opinion. I believe we need to use these new technologies to draw in more are youth for Jesus. The human videos were very fun and can be used to wittness on the big screens. What about a Myspace bestpage creation for Jesus. Xbox competitions with cristian themes? Cellphone Cristian ringtones. Lets brainstorm and use the tech gadgets for Christ.

Thank you Santos "...technologies to draw in more youth for Christ... A technological Generation needs technological outreach. Thanks for your W.O.W AKA Words of Wisdom P. Vitz
God Bless, as a Youth leader in the church, I think that this new generation is very distracted. However, when i was a teen we had cell phones, and other "gadgets". For some reason i am not convinced that its only because of the modern day technologies that this youth is not sold out for Christ... I believe its something much more. Its a choice you make to be living for God or not. Whether your into "things" or not. I know that theres many things that the church does for the youth, but somehow they are not interested. Theres no respect for God, no hunger to seek him. I feel that its the worlds fault for presenting them with so many different things out there, but also like i said before its a choice..About half of my generation chose to serve God whole heartedly, while the others chose to give in and quit. I can't imagine what this upcoming generation will choose to do. I can only pray that a revival occurs in their personal lives, and they wake up from this fantasy world they live in.
You wrote: "Its a choice you make..." Life is about choices and that includes God and everything else. Thanks for your W.O.W. P.Vitz
I think God is in the hearts of this generation but were failure has is occured is to prioritize or bring forth the imporatance of God, salvations & reaching to others! I'm about to do a "Dueteronomy" to our youth in the church! To this new generation, to express & teach that God & His rightousness are FIRST, then everything else falls into place! Everyone knows of God but knowing is 1/2 the batttle...Action is the other 1/2!
Luv you brother!
I belive that this generation truly wants to serve God in their hearts but also they care too much about what others in the world think of them. You see I am part of the gen. before this one so have a relationship with this gen. and if there is one thing I notice is that this gen. cares too much about their reputation @ school and around thier friends in the world. They dont even speak of God for it is not the cool thing to do and they rather be too busy trying to impress thier friends and this world even if it cost them thier relatoinship with God. You see in order to be sold out for something you must be passionate about it first and i only pray that our youth will find passion for the almighty GOD!!!
